(ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਛਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
But they shall come to regret their actions - they create their own karma.
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਪੀੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਘਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਤਿਲ ।੨੭।
Azraa-eel, the Angel of Death, shall crush them like sesame seeds in the oil-press. ||27||
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਦਿਲ! ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ
The world is a transitory place of mortality - know this for certain in your mind.
ਹੇ ਦਿਲ! ਤੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਕਿ (ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ) ਅਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਲ ਫੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Azraa-eel, the Messenger of Death, has caught me by the hair on my head, and yet, I do not know it at all in my mind. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ (ਆ ਕੇ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਿਉ, ਭਰਾ, ਦਰਬਾਰ, ਜਾਇਦਾਦ, ਘਰ
Your benefactors, presents, companions, courts, lands and homes
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣਗੇ? ।੩।
- when Azraa-eel, the Messenger of Death seizes you, what good will these be to you then? ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Azraa-eel, the Messenger of Death, is the friend of the human being who has Your support, Lord.
ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ) (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੩।
His sins are all forgiven; Your humble servant gazes upon Your Vision. ||3||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਲ ਲੇਖੇ ਦੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦੇ ਪੈਣਗੇ,
Those rebels who have unpaid accounts shall be called out.
ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ (ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ) ਆ ਤਿਆਰ ਖੜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ।
Azraa-eel, the Angel of Death, shall be appointed to punish them.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਥੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ) ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਲੁਟਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those who committed sins are sure to be ruined.
ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਫੜ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਕੁਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
Azraa-eel, the Angel of Death, seizes and tortures them.
(ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ) ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਦਰੀਆ ਬਣਾਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਧੋਇਆ ਕਰ ।
Wash away pollution with the river of your heart.
ਹੇ ਅੱਲਾ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪੀਰ (ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ) ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ।੧੧।
One who realizes the Prophet attains heaven. Azraa-eel, the Messenger of Death, does not cast him into hell. ||11||
ਹੇ ਫਰੀਦ! ਸੰੁਦਰ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੋਹਣੀ ਲੱਜ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ?
Fareed, your beautiful body shall break apart, and the subtle thread of the breath shall be snapped.
ਅੱਜ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ (ਮੌਤ ਦਾ) ਫ਼ਰਿਸਤਾ ਅਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਹੈ? ਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਿਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ? ।੬੮।
In which house will the Messenger of Death be a guest today? ||68||
